"Everyone must leave New Orleans"

Devastating. I haven't been watching the news coverage of Katrina - mostly because I just generally don't watch the news, too depressing. But I woke up this morning and saw the Tribune headline - 80% of New Orleans underwater. That is so hard to fathom. Where are they going to put everyone? How in the world are they going to get all those people out of the Superdome?

I'm going to donate something to the American Red Cross but I'm waiting to hear if our company will double their usual matching. My heart and my prayers go out to all the people impacted by this disaster.

Yeah, this is awful. DH and I were watching on CNN last night (and we're not big tv news viewers), and I was getting so upset. I made an appointment to donate blood this morning, but will give cash too. It's terrible that this is going on.

Donating blood is a good idea. I wonder if there are charities other than the Red Cross that could use a donation. I bet the Red Cross website is swamped right now.

My best friend's family lives in Mississippi and Mobile, Alabama. Fortunately, everyone is okay. I'm definitely going to donate money. I wish I could go there and help.
